An ordinary member of JSEE is an individual of a school or a company who agrees with the aims and activities of JSEE and pays the annual fee. The membership entitles an ordinary member to receive the printed journal and participate in the activities of JSEE.

(For the senior membership, the person must be over 67 years old and has 5or more years of prior membership of JSEE.)
An honorary member of JSEE is recommended by the general assembly from among those individuals who have been the president of JSEE or have extended extraordinary service to JSEE.
A supporting member is a firm who agrees with the aims and activities of JSEE and pays the annual fee (of ¥100,000 or more). A supporting member will have copies of JSEE journals and JSEE reports sent as they are issued.
There may be requests from the executive office of JSEE to a supporting member, asking to nominate a director or members of the standing or ad hoc committees.
